Continuous Electrodeionization

USFilter CDI-LX® systems provide continuous, high-purity water without the problems and costs associated with hazardous regeneration chemicals and waste neutralization. The systems are used to further deionize reverse osmosis (RO) permeate and remove carbon dioxide and remaining salts, silica, boron and total organic carbon (TOC). CDI-LX® systems use ion-permeable membranes, ion exchange resins and electricity to consistently produce high-quality water with no regeneration downtime. When fed with RO product water, CDI-LX® systems achieve better than 99.5% salt removal and produce up to 18 megohm-cm (0.055 micromho/cm) quality water, while rejecting 95-99%+ silica, 96% boron and 99%+ CO₂. Water recovery is 95%.
